Assist in developing the category strategy based on corporate strategy and lead the implementation plan. In addition, the Category Manager is integral to the development and success of our products. The job is to manage the product category or range and be responsible for the pricing and overall promotion of the products. Also, responsible to increase sales and profitability of business to drive sustainable growth representing Doctor M in dealing with category vendors and build long term successful partnerships.



  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, marketing, or another related field
  • A minimum of 7 Years of managerial experience
  • Previous experience in category management is a plus
  • Strong knowledge of category management, marketing, and sales principles
  • Ability to analyze and develop accurate conclusions to support category decisions based on key data



  • Establish the design and implementation of the departmental strategy in line with Doctor M Retail’s vision, mission and corporate objectives.
  • Establish and foster strong relationships with external partners – vendors.
  • Design and propose to BUAM Director yearly vendor agreement and design monthly performance measurement tools.
  • Foster trust relationships with vendors to achieve better pricing and quality of services
  • Collaborate in a strong relationship with communication to ensure front door visibility and right product at the right place at the right time (time to market).
  • Analyze data or insights to determine industry and consumer trends regarding the product and Category
  • Create and develop a strategic long-term plan for the development of the category
  • Developing an exit strategy for unsuccessful products
  • Become a leader in category ranging, pricing, and promotions across channels
  • Place appropriate orders to ensure product availability meets demand
  • Lead category management projects to optimize ranges and related merchandising
  • Collaborate with buyers and merchandisers to expand product categories
  • Create forecasts for product demand to ensure sustainability of inventory
  • Manage budget development and revenue for the category
